Our College and Career Planning Program prepares CB girls to succeed in college and beyond.
With a strong emphasis on success during post-secondary education, the College and Career Planning Program strives to increase our graduates’ level of preparation, application, acceptance, and enrollment in colleges and universities.
This year our College and Career Planning Program will serve more than 75 girls in Montgomery County attending Springbrook High School, Northwood High School, Montgomery Blair High School and James Hubert Blake High School.
Each girl receives weekly one-on-one counseling with our College and Career Planning specialist about college and career prospects, as well as coaching through her FAFSA and Common Application processes. Girls also attend workshops on topics such as job interview preparation, essay writing, and navigating financial aid. We also offer monthly visits to colleges and universities. These visits include opportunities for CB girls to talk with college-student peers who have successfully overcome economic and cultural barriers.
As part of our holistic approach, we endeavor to provide additional resources as needed for each girl’s personal success in college and beyond. We also offer college and career planning workshops for families through our Family Institute.
