Overview of CB Programs
- CB Girls Program: This year we served 244 girls in grades 4-12. 97% of CB girls would recommend the CB Girls Program to a friend
- CB Family: CB connected families with .5 million pounds of food. Delivered groceries to 49 families: 13 elementary school families, 14 middle school families, 17 high school families, 5 CB alum
- CB Mentoring Program: CB had 38 mentoring matches. Mentors and mentees discussed subjects such as self and community care, goal setting, mental health, and many more
- CB College and Career: College and Career worked with girls on the college application process, networking, and applying for scholarships. 100% of high school seniors who graduated in Spring 2021 & enrolled to attend college/university
- CB Alumnae: Alumnae of the CB Girls Program have been active in giving back to the organization. We had 3 alumnae return as interns and other alumnae who have volunteered to deliver groceries and tutor
- CB Racial Equity and Inclusion Committee: The youth-led committee held its first virtual town hall to discuss the experiences of BIPOC students and links to racial inequity in public education. The Town Hall had participation from local leaders such as Maryland State Senator Will Smith and President of the Montgomery County Board of Education, Shebra Evans
- CB Pilot Program: This year we began with a cohort of eight students attending JoAnn Leleck Elementary School from grades 4-5. Testing evaluations determined their level of proficiency in reading, writing and math. This summer we have begun the process of advocacy for IEP’s and continued tutoring
- Homework Club and One-on-one Tutoring: CB Girls engaged in 325 hours of Homework Club tutoring and 395.45 hours of one-on-one tutoring
