Engaging and empowering families is part of our holistic approach to helping girls succeed.
Community Bridges provides a sense of family…others who look out for my daughter’s emotional and mental well-being. CB is part of our family.
The Community Bridges Family Institute provides parents and guardians of CB girls with opportunities to build skills, competencies, and social capital through workshops, participation in girls’ projects and events, and connections to services.
CB families may face a variety of challenges, and our Family Institute provides guidance and resources. For instance, during this past year, experts led workshops on key topics of special concern to CB parents, including the FAFSA Process, Navigating Social Media for Parents/Guardians, and Knowing Your Rights (presented by the International Rescue Committee).
We also connect with families and strengthen our community with fun events such as our annual Winter Holiday Celebration and End-of-Year Picnic.
The CB Family Institute is guided by members of our Parental Advisory Committee, which is composed of parents and guardians who provide valuable input to help us to shape the programs, workshops, and events we offer for families of CB girls. The committee meets monthly on Tuesday evenings.
