The Community Bridges Alumnae Program provides graduates of the CB girl program additional support through professional workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions and connections to internship and job opportunities. Community Bridges continues to support our alumnae not just to but through college.

Support for our youngest alumnae, the most recent graduating class, begins immediately and extends over the summer, providing support for enrollment, class registration, student loans, health and accommodations forms submission. Community Bridges also supports our students enrolling in summer prep programs such as LSAMP’s Bridges. In August, we hold a college send off for our most recent graduates, providing them some key advice for navigating college. Alumnae from the prior year are invited to the celebration. We connect our college bound alumnae with other students from the CB schools and also with prior year’s alumnae at that college as well as to college organizations supporting 1st gen students.

In the Fall, we follow up with visits to our local campuses as well as check ins after mid-terms for our freshmen, making sure they are connected to academic and other support services on campus.  We hold a winter social over break inviting all college age alumnae to meet for relaxation as well as some coaching on renewing their financial aid and connecting with their Career Services Office.

Over the winter, we evaluate which alumnae are ready to transfer to a 4 year program and support them through the transfer process. Community Bridges provides referrals for internships, scholarships and job opportunities for all alumnae, as well as an additional check in with freshmen. In May we hold a summer kick off event including providing professional clothes for interviews and jobs as well as resume and interview support.

Throughout the year, we provide one on one support for college age alumnae with financial aid such as Fasfsa or MSFAA, resume, internship and scholarship application support, and preparing for interviews.  Local alumnae return to reconnect with Community Bridges at the annual Girl Legacy Gala and the Career Summit, as well as meeting CBHS girls when they visit colleges.
