Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Rainbow Community Development Center (RCDC)/Rev. Patricia Drumming has been a pivotal partner in providing food resources to CB families. For the first time ever, Community Bridges will honor RCDC with the 2021 Girl Legacy Partner of the Year Award.
The Rainbow Community Development Center Inc.’s mission is to build better lives for those in need through Safety Net Services: Emergency Food Pantry, Eviction Prevention, Prevention of Utility Cutoff, and Temporary Emergency Shelter. The food pantry is their largest program. Their goals for the Food Pantry are to reduce hunger; provide food from all the USDA recommended food groups, especially fresh produce; increase student learning; decrease obesity rates and other health related diseases among the families they serve.
