Community Bridges Honors Connie Morella with the 2018 Building Bridges Award

Connie Morella is a Montgomery County resident. Morella served in the Maryland General Assembly from 1979 to 1986 and represented Montgomery County and the 8th Congressional District from 1987 to 2003. After losing in 2002 to then-state Sen. Chris Van Hollen, now a U.S. Senator representing Maryland, Morella was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development from 2003 until 2007.

Morella is now an ambassador in residence in the Department of Government at American University in Washington, D.C. Morella will be the second Building Bridges award recipient. Last year at Girl Legacy Rep. Jamie Raskin was recognized with the 2017 Building Bridges Award.
