Engaging and empowering families is part of our holistic approach to helping girls succeed.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from other parents, to share our ideas and to be heard.”
The Community Bridges Family Institute provides parents and guardians of CB girls with opportunities to build skills, competencies, and social capital through workshops, participation in girls’ projects and events, and connections to services.
To combat the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic, Community Bridges has pivoted to meet the immediate needs of CB girls and families by providing basic necessities such as food and toiletries, help with renters assistance and EARP. We continue to provide additional resources to families as needed such as links to registrations for vaccines and COVID-19 testing.
During COVID-19, we’ve been able to provide:
- Over 525,000 pounds of food to families
- 300 families with bi-weekly grocery delivery
- 50 families with holiday meals
- 50 families holiday gifts
- 290 families with reusable masks
- 200 girls with art supply kits
- 180 girls with school supplies and headphones
- 90 girls and families with toiletries and bras
CB families may face a variety of challenges, and our Family Institute provides guidance and resources. We also connect with families and strengthen our community with fun events such as our annual Winter Holiday Celebration and End-of-Year Picnic.
